Indian Education

The Shasta Union High School District acts as the lead agency for the Indian Education program which is composed of six High Schools, as well as eleven K-8 School Districts. These twelve districts make up the Shasta County Indian Education Consortium. April Carmelo is our Indian Education Coordinator. April is assisted by the Indian Education Instructional Paraprofessional Elizabeth Wilson. The Indian Ed. office is located at Shasta Learning Center at 2200 Eureka Way, Room 206, Redding CA 96001. The program's primary goals are scholastic achievement, cultural awareness, positive role modeling, parent/student involvement, promoting self-esteem, and community involvement, and encouraging higher education.
