Indian Education

The Shasta Union High School District acts as the lead agency for the Indian Education program which is composed of six High Schools, as well as 11 K-8 School Districts. These 12 districts make up the Shasta County Indian Education Consortium.April Carmelo is our Indian Education Coordinator. April is assisted by the Indian Education Instructional Paraprofessional Rossana Roman. The Indian Ed office is located at Shasta Learning Center. The program's primary goals are scholastic achievement, cultural awareness, positive role modeling, and parent/student involvement, promote self-esteem, community involvement and encourage higher education.
