My wife, Danielle, and I moved our family to Redding in 2007. Our three children all attended public schools, including Shasta High School, from which they've launched successfully to college and beyond. I’m also a product of wonderful California public schools (Los Angeles Unified School District), going on to graduate with a BS in genetics from UC Davis, and subsequently graduate and medical degrees from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. A Board Certified Emergency Physician, I practice at both Mercy Redding and St. Elizabeth in Red Bluff. I currently serve as Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Mercy Medical Center Redding, where I’ve also held the elected positions of Chief of Medicine and Chief of Staff.
I'm honored to serve on the SUHSD Board of Trustees. Having seen our children benefit from, and flourish in, the local public school system, I feel compelled to contribute to that system and ensure that the school district continues to thrive. A highly functional school district requires a strong focus on core academic principles, with broad opportunity for students across disciplines. SUHSD must continue to provide excellent education in STEM, vocational studies, liberal studies, athletics, and the fine and performing arts, and do so in a fiscally responsible way. I'm personally dedicated to ensuring that all students in our community have access to the highest quality education possible, giving them a foundation for success in our community and beyond.
